Description
Chicken Blood Stone is a combination of minerals including kaolite and quartz with smaller amounts of cinnabar which creates the red patterns in the stone. It has been used for precious carvings in China for centuries.
It is considered to be an important talisman against evil or negative energies and for being a lucky stone that can bring good fortune.
Care should always be taken when handling stones containing cinnabar as it contains mercury. Like many other stones including some jaspers, malachite, lapis, etc, finished products made from these stones are generally considered safe to handle. Take extra care with broken pieces of any of these stones.
